Most Gym leaders only have Pokémon from a certain type. Of course, you have exceptions, like Volkner in Diamond and Pearl, but still, most of them solely focus on one type. I personally would go with either Dark or Fire Types. I am still sore about the fact that there hasn't been even one single Dark-type gym. They are versatile and generally have pretty well thought out designs. An ideal Dark type gym team would be something along the lines of: Absol Liepard Houndour/Houndoom Murkrow My reasons for a Fire-type gym have less to do with my (righteous) anger at being snubbed, and more to do with the love I have for the type. I keep coming back to this, aren't I? Anyway, a perfect team would be: Ninetales Talonflame Quilava Braixen Lampant Now is the question, if you were a Gym leader, what type would you use?
I've always liked Ground types, so would go with them. Team would consist of: Gligar Gastrodon Golurk Hippowdon Sandslash Gym would have a dry cracked mud kind of motif.
I have a real soft spot for Fairy types (as does one of my guy friends), so that's the way I'd go. My ideal Fairy-type lineup would be the following. - Clefable - Klefki - Mawile - Slurpuff - Togetic
I would use Fairy types in my gym, this would be my team/ Alolan Ninetails Mimikyu Klefki Gardevoir Audino Shiinotic
I would have to go with Poison, like Roxie. I love watching the other trainers panic as their Pokémon's HP dwindles as they realize they forgot to pack Antidotes, Pecha Berries, ect to stop the toxins. >u< I'm horrible like that Pokémon I would use: Seviper (gym mascot, like Clefairy was for Whitney and Koffing was for Roxie) Nidoqueen Crobat Salazzle Roserade Gengar-Mega/Poison Z Crystal
I can't decide what type do I like...I like to take advantage of dual types because of a good coverage. Even though I would like flying types, my choice of team members would be too similar with Hoenn Gym Leader Winona's for instance. So I thought of using different types, both of which I love. Grass type - Tropius (Grass/Flying) - Meganium (Grass) - Shiftry (Grass/Dark) - Ludicolo (Water/Grass) - Breloom (Grass/Fighting) Water Type - Swampert (Water/Ground) - Kingdra (Water/Dragon) - Sealeo (Ice/Water) - Ludicolo (Water/Grass) - Pelipper (Water/Flying) I can't decide what type do I like...I like to take advantage of dual types because of a good coverage. I'd go for either Ghost, Dragon, or Electric. Ghost: Gengar Golurk Sableye (Mega) Mimikyu Chandelure Cofigrigus Dragon: Hydreigon Haxorus Kommo-o Turtonator Kingdra Dragonite Electric: Electivire Alolan Raichu Eelectross Lanturn Heliolisk Alolan Golem
I'd most likely be an Electric type Gym Leader. Not because of stats or anything, I just really like electric types. My team would probably consist of: Raichu Togedemaru Lanturn Ampharos and Eelektross I could possibly (although less likely) be a Water type Gym Leader: Feralgatr (starter, don't care ) Azumarill Araquanid Jellicent and Wailren Also could be Flying: Staraptor Talonflame Vivillon Minior and Emolga And I'll do one more: Ghost. Gengar Chandelier Mimikyu (because MIMIKYUUUUUUU) Sableye and Aegislash They're in order from most likely to least likely. I just did a lot, but OH WELL IT WAS FUN.
I would go for a water type gym, just because I love that type so much. My team would be: Blastoise Greninja Swanna Gyrados
I would definitely go with Fairy types! I love many of the Fairy type Pokémon in the game right now. If I had to choose a team, I'd go with my faves: - Clefable - Primarina - Klefki - Togekiss - Ninetales (Alola) - Sylveon
I would probably have to do water because of my love for Pyukumuku. The team would be: Pyukumuku Politoed Alomomola Vaporeon Jellicent Gastrodon Have it be a stall team to just annoy the shit out of trainers
Ehh... I'd either be a dragon or a water-type leader because those are my favourite types. As for my team, it's probably going to be something like: (Water) [3D='empoleon'][3D='gyarados-mega'][3D='gastrodon'][3D='starmie'][3D='ludicolo'] (Dragon) [3D='hydreigon'][3D='altaria-mega'][3D='dragalge'][3D='dragonite']
I would definetly be a fighting type gym leader. My team would consist of Hariyama Hitmontop Primeape Sawk Pangoro Bewear
If I were a Gym Leader I would use Normal type. I would use a Porygon2, Ditto, and Castform, and the Gym 'theme' would be type changing. Each of the three Pokémon I have use moves and abilities to change their type, so even though it is a Normal type gym, any challengers would have to be able to adapt to different circumstances in order to win. The badge I would give out would be the Adaption Badge
I'd use Psychic type Pokémon for sure! It's my favorite type, so it's an easy pick for me My team would look something like this:
I am happily surprised to see so many different teams, even if the typing is the same. I do find it very interesting that most of you default to the six Pokémon teams, even if most gyms don't do that.
i ? love this ? anyways !!! as a gym leader, id be either psychic or steel because while psychic is my favorite steel has a lot of Pokémon i really like as psychic, id have - espeon - gallade - sigilyph - slowking - delphox - claydol as steel, id have - skarmory - aggron(or lairon) - magnezone - metagross(or metang) - lucario - scizor. listen i was aiming for 4-5 Pokémon w a lot unevolved but i..... couldnt...... maybe i just use like 3-4 and seitch out occssionally lmao
It's tough for me to choose since I have like 4 favorite types, but the one that jumps out at me first would probably be Ghost-type. I'd wanna have a good representation of type combinations, so my team might look something like: - Gengar (with Mega stone) - Alolan Marowak - Aegislash - Dhelmise - Mimikyu - Golurk I don't think I'd use all 6, but maybe I could like switch out how many I use depending on the experience of the challenger? Especially Gengar, who I'd probably reserve for experienced trainers only
@[member="arcy"] you're not the only steel type user! Back when I was part of the LV league, I was actually the grass elite four. I thought I'd be cool and bring back @[member="broongus"]'s arbor badge in essence, but I mainly wanted to test my own skill with the type. My first choice, though... Steel. If it weren't for @[member="Karzarill"] I'd have snatched that type up quicker than you could even say the word "steel." I was a steel-type gym leader in a PS league back in the early days of private servers, and I LOVED my team: Metagross Registeel Ferothorn Heatran Aegislash (changed to Lucario after it was banned) Magnezone Those really were the days. I loved that league and the LV league. If there was a recreation, I'd say that my team (provided the 2 wildcard rule we used to have for gym leaders) would be more like: Registeel Metagross Aegislash Bisharp Marowak-Alola Pelipper But, we'll see if that comes back
If I was a Gym Leader, I'd look up to my favourite out there (Blue) and be a mixed Gym Leader! The reason being is that I don't like limiting myself to only one type, and trainers would struggle preparing a strategy against me. I'd have Pokémon such as: Weavile Aurorus Lurantis Luxray Furfrou Rapidash Each of those hold a special place in my heart. But if I could have Legendary Pokémon (highly unlikely), the list would include Latios, Entei, Arceus, Zekrom, Thundurus, Xerneas and Lugia.
